Entry #1

Hello Reader,

As humans we have 7 basic needs for survival: Air, Water, Sleep, Food, Shelter, Connection, and a form of Creative Expression. My needs are well met, save the latter. Though I have a structural home where I seek shelter, comfort, and warmth (and am far too cozy in it). It is a lovely home perched atop three acres in the fertile Snohomish River Valley. In the living room is a large stone fireplace with a concrete mantle, and a concrete seating area, the ideal hearth for my kind of hearth witch hearth keeping self. Couches surround the hearth, an ottoman sits in the middle, it holds a silver tea service, from it I pour hot tea into the cups of women who choose to gather together in candlelight and conversation.

I have yet, though, to find a shelter for the Creative Expression I crave the most, that of sharing my words in engagement with a community of like-minded people.

For now, this will be my home. I will wait here, by this hearth, keeping the metaphorical tea warm, waiting for my community to follow.
